Georgians for Gun Safety is a non-profit advocacy organization made up of concerned citizens working to reduce death and injuries by firearms in Georgia. While we focus on education and communication, we also try to bring balance to the gun safety debate in the Georgia General Assembly.

Lynne Rigberg recently hosted a party at her home in Arizona. She explained the Taser gun and presented the device in a range of colors, including metallic pink.
“If you know you’re going to be in a certain situation where you might be uncomfortable, why not have it with you?” Rigberg said. “It just makes you more confident.”
Women aren’t picking out the latest Tupperware anymore, but choosing which color Taser gun would fit best in their purse.
Groups of women meet up at each other’s homes to discuss buying Taser guns to protect themselves.

An Aurora man was Tasered by police after allegedly jumping out of a speeding vehicle in an attempt to avoid a DUI arrest early Friday in west suburban Montgomery, officials said.Michael McNair, 21, was charged with DUI and felony aggravated resisting arrest after the traffic stop about 1 a.m. in the 400 block of Montgomery Road, according to Montgomery police.McNair was allegedly speeding when an officer attempted to stop his vehicle. He instead got out of the car and attempted to flee while the vehicle was still moving. He then jumped a fence and turned to confront the officer, who used a Taser on McNair, police said.
