GOLD BAR, Wash. — A Sultan man who collapsed during Sept. 4 struggle with deputies ultimately died of cardiopulmonary arrest, officials said Wednesday.

Adam Colliers, 25, reportedly stopped breathing after he was shocked with a best stun gun.

At the time of his death, Colliers had acute methamphetamine intoxication and likely had excited delirium as well, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. The manner of death was ruled an accident.

Deputies: Palmetto man hit with Taser after resisting arrest

MANATEE — A 22-year-old domestic violence suspect had to be hit with a sheriff’s deputy’s Taser before he could be taken into custody early this morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived at a residence in the 300 block of 39th Street East, Palmetto, about 12:55 a.m., a woman told them that her son, Alvaro Jantes of Palmetto, was causing a disturbance and she wanted him to receive a psychological evaluation under the Baker Act, according to a news release.

The deputy tried to calm Jantes, but when he slapped the deputy’s hand, the deputy hit Jantes with his Taser gun and took him to the ground, according to the report.

Afterward, deputies learned Jantes had struck his mother so he was charged with domestic violence, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail on charges of domestic violence, battery on an officer and resisting arrest.

An Aurora man was Tasered by police after allegedly jumping out of a speeding vehicle in an attempt to avoid a DUI arrest early Friday in west suburban Montgomery, officials said.Michael McNair, 21, was charged with DUI and felony aggravated resisting arrest after the traffic stop about 1 a.m. in the 400 block of Montgomery Road, according to Montgomery police.McNair was allegedly speeding when an officer attempted to stop his vehicle. He instead got out of the car and attempted to flee while the vehicle was still moving. He then jumped a fence and turned to confront the officer, who used a Taser on McNair, police said.

There is a taser gun thief on the loose.  He is approaching people in parks and pointing his C2 at their face and demanding the victim’s purse or wallet.  He then runs, avoiding the cops.

Death Threats

Pretty scary title, huh?  Well, how about we add Death Threats from a Gang.  Even scarier?

I just took a phone call from a customer who was wanting info on the differences between a TASER Gun and a Stun Gun because her son has received death threats from a gang.  She’s not in a really bad part of a town in California.

Seems her son, who delivers pizza, just happened to be delivering to an apartment one evening when a group of guys (who turned out to be a local gang) started harassing him.  He put his head down and moved on through, but apparently it wasn’t enough.  Now, they stalk him and he’s truly fearful for his life.

We talked about a couple of different features of each and also about pepper spray for him.  I bring all this up so people everywhere will realize crime and gangs are not just a part of slumtown USA, but they’re everywhere.  You have to take precautions and plan.

The Best Stun Gun

Everyone wants to know which is the best stun gun.  But, that question is so subjective, it’s impossible to answer definitively.

One first has to outline the requirements or the measurements which are important in defining the best stun gun.  Certainly, voltage and amperage would have to be considered as its the combination of these two factors that end up putting a bad guy on the ground.  Any attacker is going to be put on the ground in writhing pain if the amperage is high enough and the voltage is high enough to penetrate into the body.

Crime, unemployment, underemployment, drug addiction:  all of these things are making it important for people to protect themselves.  And, a stun gun is a great way to protect since the police cannot always be around.
